I provide:

• Dog Walking - $10-$15/hr. If service is outside Beaverton Oregon, a travel charge may be applied.
• 1:1 Dog Behavior Training for You and Your Dog. The first 3 hour session is $10/hour. Follow-up sessions (if needed) are $50/hr.

Most people seek my help so they can learn how to improve the behavior of their dog. This is a goal I love working on with my clients.

In my experience, over 99% of the problems that people have with their pet can be solved by teaching 3 basic ideas that reinforce each other: (1) Dogs (canis lupus familiaris) come from the Wolf (canis lupus). This tells us (2) what dogs need, and how they operate. Finally, knowing #1 and #2, you will remember (3) the tools (to be named later) that work to fulfill the needs of the dog AND you.

I’ve found that these 3 things ground and motivate people. It also allows them to see that their dog is not a ‘lost cause’. I believe many ‘problem’ dogs are euthanized because people don’t have the information, tools, or hope that their pet can be ‘fixed’. Many times they believe the problem is unexplainably coded into their animal’s DNA, and therefore that animal will always be aggressive, fearful, obsessive….

In getting to the heart of working with your dog, you need to understand and believe that the primary thing a dog needs in its life is leadership from the human being. To provide this leadership, you need to ACT and BE a certain way. This state of being is represented by the figure below:
